Water’s Edge

This beautiful holiday cottage nestles on the banks of the River Coquet in the historical, stunningly picturesque hamlet of Warkworth, Northumberland. A traditional stone-built cottage dating from circa 1800. Our remit for this project was to refurbish it to a very high standard to provide luxury holiday accommodation with two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. However, this was only part of the design remit, the second major part was to take full advantage of the superb view of the river and the open countryside beyond. Our designers went to work and came up with an ingenious idea of having the living accommodation on the first floor and the bedrooms on the ground floor, effectively reversing everything. The result was a beautiful five-star house which has gone on to be awarded a gold certificate of excellence from the tourist board and is constantly booked, with a visitor’s book that is constantly rewarded with comments exclaiming the quality of the design and build.
